Bachelor degree project
Transformation of an old wool factory in Marieholm, where the old weaving halls are transformed in to an art gallery.
With the main focus to complement the existing light conditions and the end goal to create a sequential walk through different spaces where the light conditions as well as room heights and views difference in the transition between the rooms.
Exhibition elements are often painted white to not take focus from the exhibited art, the so called “white space” are usually considered a passive element or negative space. In this project the aim is to explore the possibility of exhibition surfaces as an active element and a positive space that still works in the favour of amplifying the exhibited art. An extension to this is the rooms possibilities to inspire and be used in many different ways, from micro to macro installations.
